Guests and locals may dine in our "Courtyard Restaurant" overlooking the Magnolia Tree and Vine. The Kings enjoys  a fine reputation for its extensive and imaginative menu of mouthwatering dishes. Using Locally sourced produce The Kings offers the finest Galloway Beef & Steaks, Solway Salmon, Scallops etc.

Residents staying on a Dinner Bed & Breakfast basis are able to enjoy the daily 'Table D'Hote' Menu. This consists of  a Choice of Starters / Mains / Sweets or Cheese & Biscuits and of course Coffee & Mints  to follow.

Every Thursday Castle Douglas Rotary Club dine in the Restaurant at 6.30.pm. and visiting Rotarians are made most welcome.

The Kings Arms is host to the Traditional Burns Supper. Castle Douglas Burns Club with Chairman Mr Graham Bell always has their event the nearest Friday to 25th January. The Stewartry Young Farmers with their budding new speakers is always a popular event. Also The Rotary Club always have their Supper on their Thursday night slot. A large number of Clubs and Societies use the Kings Arms for their Meetings - generally accommodated in the Resident's Lounge. From Book clubs to Scrabble Clubs, Cancer Research to Solway Car Club to name but a few. All are welcome. 

Soon we will be host to our 9th Waterloo Club Dinner for 70 Gentlemen - this has moved from the Imperial where it had been held for nigh on 60+ years. All present last year enjoyed the wit and repartee of the various contributors and Chaired by Mr Andrew Dunlop and his able committee. This is a unique club , possibly the only one of its kind in the country - it's connection -  to the Waterloo Cup that used to be held near Liverpool. 

We are only too pleased to Host various sizes of groups and are happy to tailor - make menus to suit. From Golden Weddings to 40th Birthday celebrations and we can even put down a small dance floor if required. From Christenings to Funeral Teas , Retirement Dinners , Society AGM's . Young Farmers Functions - the list goes on.

Meals are served daily from 12.00 - 2.00.pm and in the evening from 6.00 - 8.45.pm.

Week-ends are especially busy and booking is advisable. The Courtyard Restaurant often hosts parties of up to 50 and therefore space becomes a premium. Guests will always however be accommodated if they wish to dine.

Breakfast is the full 'Kings' including Haggis and is served in the Restaurant from 7.45.am - 9.00.am. Early breakfasts can be arranged the night before and a continental can be made up for those out and about really sharp. If arriving late or having teed off late in the afternoon for another 9 or 18 holes then we will arrange for a late Dinner also.
